Culture, in different forms
The Wick is a cultural publication spanning art, design, fashion and travel. Regular features give readers familiar places to return to, while topic pages let them follow an interest across different kinds of stories.
An interview, an object and an exhibition recommendation need different amounts of space. A shared editorial structure connects them without flattening those differences.

Finding the next story
A publication needs more than a stream of recent posts. Readers should be able to follow a theme, look for a subject or continue from a story into something related.

A structure for publishing
The original 2020 sitemap separates the homepage, theme and topic collections, and an adaptable story page. Those routes provide the foundation for a publication that can keep adding content.
The supplied desktop and mobile designs cover navigation, expanded menus and story modules. The development brings those elements together as a working editorial website.

From the cover to the conversation
The Monday Muse view pairs a portrait with a large headline. Supporting information introduces the interview before the longer conversation begins. Across the publication, the scale changes from browsing several stories to spending time with one.

Colour has a place in the system
The intense blue and pale pink give the publication a recognisable opening. White navigation and reading areas introduce a quieter register, while individual stories can use further colour treatments.
