A visual gallery and a project index offer different ways into EBBA’s architecture archive.

01 / Browsing
Follow an image. Find a project.
A gallery invites us to begin with what catches our eye. An index offers a more direct route, using project names, categories and years.
EBBA makes both available. They give different kinds of visitors a way into the same body of work.
Compare the views
Switch from the photographed gallery to a simplified index study. The gallery gives you atmosphere and a sense of scale. The list makes the structure of an archive easier to scan.
The index study uses generic entries to isolate the difference in layout; it is not a copy of EBBA’s project list.

An image is useful when someone is discovering the practice. A compact list can be more useful when they already know what they are looking for. Neither needs to replace the other.
02 / Project galleries
Let the work change the mood.
On the V&A Fragile Beauty project page, exhibition photography brings its own light, colour and perspective. The surrounding interface gives those images room.
A closer look
A gallery count makes it clear that there are more views to explore. A consistent image area lets the visitor compare those views without learning a new interface for each project.
The photography supplies the character. The navigation supplies a familiar way to move through it.

That separation matters in an architecture archive: a room, an installation and an object can look very different, while sharing the same basic structure for viewing and reading.
03 / Selection
An introduction, then more.
Selected projects offer a concise introduction to a practice. The complete archive opens up a longer view of its work. Those two scales can coexist without making the first visit feel like a catalogue.

A selected view is an editorial choice about where to begin. The full archive lets visitors continue beyond that introduction and form their own connections.
04 / Navigation
Keep the routes legible.
Short labels and a repeated hierarchy reduce the amount of interface competing with project images. Categories help the visitor narrow a broad archive without changing the character of the site.

The aim is not to make the navigation disappear. It should remain visible enough to use, while leaving the strongest visual emphasis to the architecture.
About this note
The project archive contains layouts and identity studies from 2018–19 and further materials from 2021. These describe design stages, not a single verified launch date. The gallery observations and website captures are from September 2026. Architecture and photography belong to their respective creators. Explore the EBBA project.
